The total number of applications considered this year was 131 with a potential spend of £86,000 allocated for the benefit of disabled tennis players. This is a 26% increase in the number of applications received.
In addition, the Trustees approved two larger projects for funding for the next two years – the first is a project to be run by Disability Sports Coach – already very successful in offering multi-sports to disabled people at community clubs around London, they now wish to offer tennis specific delivery at two of their clubs in Southwark and Hounslow.
The second project is supporting LUSU Inclusive Tennis Vision to deliver bespoke training to organisations, voluntary and community groups with the aim of developing inclusive tennis for anyone with complex needs. This will take place in the North of England.
